Privacy Policy
This page explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how it's stored, who sees it, and how you can ask for it to be deleted. Last updated 2026-05-15.
Who we are
Focus Speech Pathology is a single-practitioner allied-health clinic based at Shop 2/1 Kingsway, Cronulla NSW 2230, operating under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and the NSW Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002. We are a registered NDIS provider.
What we collect through this website
When you fill in the enquiry form on this site, we ask for:
- Your name.
- Your phone number.
- Your email address.
- Your preferred way to be contacted (phone, text, or email).
- Whether therapy is for you, your child, or another adult.
- Your child's first name and age, if the enquiry is about a child.
- Which concerns describe what you're noticing (from a short checklist).
- Any free-text "something else" you choose to add.
We deliberately don't ask for date of birth, address, Medicare number, NDIS plan number, school name, or GP name at this stage — those questions happen later, after we've spoken with you. Less data on the form means less data at risk.
We don't run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other marketing tracker on this site. Page visits are counted in aggregate through Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not identify individual visitors.
Why we collect it
Under Australian Privacy Principle 3, we collect this information because it is reasonably necessary for our primary purpose: providing speech pathology services. Specifically, we use it to:
- Read your enquiry and decide whether we can help.
- Get in touch with you by your preferred method.
- Triage clinical urgency and book a first appointment.
How it travels and where it lives
Submitted forms travel from your browser to our backend over TLS 1.3 (HSTS preload enforced). The backend writes the submission to two places:
- An email to our admin inbox (admin@focusspeechpathology.com.au), sent via Resend over TLS, where the team reads it.
- An audit copy in our database (Cloudflare D1, hosted in Sydney, encrypted at rest), kept for 90 days and then automatically deleted. The audit copy exists so we can look up an enquiry if an email goes missing.
The email then sits in our normal admin inbox under the team's own email retention policy. Retention in the inbox is separate from the 90-day TTL on the audit copy.
Who else sees it
Information you submit through this website is shared only with:
- Our clinical team (currently Katrina) and our administrator.
- The third-party services we use to deliver the website: Cloudflare (hosting and edge), Resend (transactional email). Both are bound by their own privacy commitments and process data on our instruction.
We do not share your information with marketing platforms, with advertising networks, with other clinics, or with anyone else, ever, unless we have your explicit written consent or we are required to by law.
Bookings through our Zanda calendar (the "Book" page) are governed by Zanda's own privacy policy. No personal information flows through our site for that path — you book directly with Zanda.
Your rights
Under the APPs you have the right to ask us:
- What information we hold about you.
- To correct anything that is wrong.
- To delete information we hold, where we are not legally required to keep it.
Send any of these requests to admin@focusspeechpathology.com.au. We aim to respond within seven business days. If you're not happy with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner — oaic.gov.au ↗.
The privacy checkbox on the enquiry form
The enquiry form has a pre-ticked checkbox worded as an acknowledgment ("I have read the Privacy Policy and understand how my information will be used"). The lawful basis for the collection is APP 3 — necessary for our primary purpose — not the checkbox itself; the checkbox is your acknowledgment that you've seen this page. If you submit with the box unticked, your enquiry still reaches us; we capture that state in the audit record but it does not block the submission.
Questions
If anything on this page is unclear, email admin@focusspeechpathology.com.au or call +61 2 9544 4004. We'd rather answer the question than leave it.
